At Mothersbond, Our goal is well known, to help Moms enjoy bonding with their children. In the course of our work, we meet many women who are struggling with infertility. Some of them have carried the burden of childlessness for too long and are considering adopting or using a surrogate. Although there is nothing wrong with Adoption or Surrogacy, as Africans, there is always gossip and ridicule for the woman and in future as the child grows into an adult, he or she may face similar challenges. It is soft, just the perfect weight to move around with, it looks and feels EXACTLY like a pregnant belly. It comes with a standard pregnancy belly-band which women who are pregnant use, it is held firmly in the shoulder and waist for a firm grip so that you can partake in just about any activity without fear.

We know you may have questions, we would try to give answers here to likely questions….so you can know how to go about it. This way you can call us when you have read through and you are OK with the terms and READY to purchase.

1. We DO NOT know anything about adoption or surrogacy. And we cant provide any help or assistance in this regard. We ARE NOT affiliated with any particular Hospital or Doctor.

2. This item is NOT available for Payment on Delivery because there’s been many cases where it was shipped as pay on delivery only for the customer to make excuses afterwards such as “My husband didn’t give me the money”, or “I traveled out of town”. It is always better to be ready before ordering. Please do not call and request for pay on delivery. Only after payments to our account that we would send it.

3. The price is N380,000 for the full box. For the quality, the material used to make it, the design and all the items contained in the box, it is very OK at this price. Sometimes we can accept part payment before we send it and you pay the balance when it is delivered. This is only in RARE circumstances. Most times it is full payment before sending.

4. The full box which costs over N380,000 contains 3 stages of belly. That is 3 sets in one pack for you to change as time goes on.

STAGE 1: 3-4 Months.

STAGE 2: 5-7 Months.

STAGE 3: 8-9+Months.

The box also contains several Belly bands you would use to wear it, extra shoulder straps and Most Importantly, a GUIDE-BOOKlet on How to Look and Act Pregnant. This booklet also contains what to expect from people; answers to questions they may have such as the answer to basic questions you should know the answer if you were truly pregnant. We work with pregnant women all the time and we know a great deal about how pregnant women look and behave at every point throughout their pregnancy. We have included all this information in the booklet..

PLEASE NOTE: If you are having twins or triplets, some women may decide to buy an extra bigger belly (stage 4) for their final stage. This extra belly will serve as your final trimester as you may want to use the regular stage 3 as your own stage 2. And now include this stage 4 as your last stage.
Please bear in mind that this is not compulsory. You could order the regular box and find that it would be just fine for you even if you are having twins or triplets. A lot of woman have used it as it is because the stage 3 on its own is quite big. And not everyone needs it.
But if you wish to add this, please bear in mind that the price is different and you pay separately for it. Mothersbond suggests that you get the standard box as you may not need to spend this extra funds.

5. It comes in two main colors,

i) Brown Chocolate

ii) Fair Light Skin.

We don’t have in between colors but would try our best to match the nearest color to you. However, the belly band which comes with it is black or grey and always covers the actual belly like a dress. Many pregnant women wear belly bands normally for back/waist support and cover. We also need to know your DRESS SIZE.

6. We can sell in stages because the cost may be to too much for some to bear at once. However, it would cost slightly more in total. Buying the set is less expensive on the long run. Buying two sizes together, (stage 1 and 2), or (stage 2 and 3) also possible. Stage 2 and 3 can be sold individually.

7. There is an extra cost for delivery which is not fixed. The delivery cost is based on weight in Kilograms and where it is to be sent to. We don’t offer pick up service from our location for privacy reasons. You can meet someone here and your privacy becomes exposed. We have lost customers like this before, so we stopped it.

8. Delivery would take 2-3 days depending on where you are in Nigeria, Far north may be upto 7 days. It has to be shipped to your given address after payment. If we can not ship to your location, we would tell you. We can also deliver to a bus park or nearby landmark as some people don’t like to give their full address for privacy reasons.

9. After delivery of your item, we can make swaps and changes for sizes as we have had cases where very big sized women realise they don’t need the 8-9 months after buying it, as it was too big when you consider their own body size. So it will be changed for something smaller. Change is done only within 1-2 days of getting it. We don’t want to take back something that may have been used even for a few days. We do not make refunds.

10. This item is primarily for women going through adoption or surrogacy in a government registered and approved institution. In certain cases, we can make it available for movie production but we DO NOT rent it. Many film makers who call often wish to rent since its for short term use. It is UNAVAILABLE for renting. The few times we rented, it got too dirty and damaged as they gave it to several friends who used it too.

Finally, Many women ask, “OK, I accept but how can I trust you, that after paying for this I will get my order?”

That is a good question. And we understand. Its not our intention to put you in an uncomfortable situation. We insist on payment before shipment because of past experiences. Some women request for it on pay on delivery just to convince themselves that something like this exists. And when it arrives and the look at it and are convinced, they now turn to say, I am sorry, please, I will call again when ready.

Every one knows about the challenges of infertility, there is nothing to be ashamed of and so adoption and surrogacy is not an offence, but using other means to get a baby through the back door is wrong and illegal and we don’t want to be part of that.
